The Wild West comes to Ross on Wye.......

Here's something you don't see every day!

We were commissioned to build a pioneer style outhouse to compliment the owners existing and very lovely log cabin. The brief was to build something that looked as if it had been there for an extremely long time, so we used reclaimed door furniture and set the shingles in a slightly haphazard pattern rather than lining them up in clean straight lines.

The build was complicated by the steep slope of the site, the back of the outhouse is over a metre above ground level, supported on an extremely sturdy frame work, but the pay off is a superb view from the window high above the Wye Valley. In the near future the outhouse will be fitted with a toilet and barrel shower all in the traditional American West style.
