Tucked away in the corner of this London garden, our cedar shed is now the focal point of the outside dining area.
Clad in 20mm thick tongue and groove, this shed also has cedar corner posts (4" square), fascia boards and barge boards (4"x 2"), in fact all externally visible timber is cedar. Secured with stainless steel fixings, and sat on recycled plastic bearers, this beautiful garden shed has a very long life ahead of it. Over time the cedar will silver to give a rustic and mellow look - something a little different to our norm, and something we will certainly be doing again.

A very light and airy garden building delivered to Buckinghamshire. The crosses below the window give a little bit of subtle detail to this beautifully proportioned design.
This is a colour combination we have used before, and it seems to always look good in any location. The lovely couple who commissioned it will be using it as a small artist's studio. Thank you to Deborah for sending over this photo, the first day of rain and the Corten has done it's thing!
It may look fairly simple but the best is yet to come. The roof is Corten, so will fairly quickly corrode to a lovely brown. The cladding is larch, so will silver. The hardwood windows and door were made by a joiner local to us, they will also silver.
In the not too distant future the shed will look as if it's been there for many many years, and is built in such a way that it will indeed, be there for many year, like all of our products! The beautiful garden is in fact a work in progress and the shed will be accessed by a winding path and be softened further by some newly plated trees. All very nice. |
